Legal Engineer, Workflows and Automation
Turn recurring legal work into workflows, agents and playbooks that Kepta runs and improves across customers. Reports to the founder.
Full role description
Legal Engineer, Workflows and Automation
Kepta is a technology company that delivers legal work to businesses. The platform does the work, licensed lawyers behind it verify every deliverable, and the price is published up front instead of billed by the hour. Our customers are companies that need legal work done, not law firms, and the buyer is whoever ended up owning contracts because nobody else would. Poland first, with desks in Warsaw and Stockholm, CEE next.
Your mission: turn recurring legal work into reusable workflows, agents, templates and playbooks that Kepta can operate and improve across customers.
You report to the founder and work closely with the CPO, the CCO and the tech team. It is a small team with direct responsibility for what you deliver: close contact with real business problems, hands-on experimentation and continuous improvement.
What you would do.
Map the work
Map legal tasks into inputs, decisions, outputs, exceptions and approval steps.
Build the workflows
Build workflows for agreed priority use cases, such as agreement creation, contract review, amendments, obligation tracking and payment follow-up.
Encode the policy
Translate legal policies into structured instructions, clause libraries, decision rules and escalation logic.
Prototype agents
Configure and prototype agents and automations, working with software engineers on integrations and production implementation.
Specify and document
Define workflow specifications, acceptance criteria and operational documentation.
Test the hard cases
Test against representative documents and difficult cases with the Knowledge and Quality owner.
Learn from delivery
Instrument failure paths and human interventions, and use delivery evidence to improve each workflow.
Build once, reuse
Convert repeatable customer requirements into shared capabilities while keeping customer-specific policies separate.
Who we are looking for.
- Legal training or substantial experience designing legal processes, with evidence of sound domain judgment.
- Hands-on building with Claude Code, Codex or similar: practical automation or AI work that you personally built.
- Ability to decompose ambiguous tasks and explain decisions clearly.
- Comfort with structured data, prompt design, workflow tools and technical collaboration.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Coding is useful. Demonstrated ability to build, test and maintain a working process is essential, and we judge it from your task file, not from years on a CV.
How we will measure you.
Quality
Workflow completion quality and serious error rate.
Speed
Human minutes per completed task and cycle time.
Leverage
Reuse across customers and maintenance effort. Baselines come first, numeric targets after.
Hiring process.
1.
Your application, with the task file described under Apply.
2.
Thirty minutes with the founder.
3.
Two hours with the team. We change one fact in the task case and you adapt your file live, explaining why.
4.
Conversation about role, equity and start date.
5.
Offer.
