Build the legal function that watches.

Kepta is a technology company that delivers legal work to businesses: software does the legal work, licensed lawyers verify it, and the price is published up front. We are hiring two Legal Engineers.

What you would be joining.

A technology company that delivers legal services to businesses. Warsaw and Stockholm, Poland first, CEE next.

Software in front

The Register is a living record of everything a company has signed. It monitors deadlines, finds gaps, corrects agreements and chases overdue invoices.

Lawyers behind

Licensed lawyers verify every deliverable and step in when a deal, a dispute or a funding round needs human judgment.

Prices on the website

Every price is published up front.

You would join a team of serial entrepreneurs and work directly with the founder, Lech Kaniuk.

Our customers are companies that need legal work done. Not law firms. The buyer is a founder, a CFO, a COO, or whoever ended up owning contracts.

Open roles.

Two roles open now.

Not a fit for these but you build things we should know about? Write to careers@kepta.legal.

Apply.

The task.

Both roles work from the same case: a Polish software house wants to engage a senior developer on a B2B agreement. Read the brief and the baseline agreement an AI assistant drafted from it, without legal review. Use any tools you like, including Claude or ChatGPT. We test what you add on top: we run your file against cases you have not seen, and in the interview we change a fact and ask you to adapt it.

Legal Engineer, Workflows and Automation

Build the workflow, then make the case for 10x.

Your task file contains:

  1. An instruction file of at most 400 words that makes Claude or ChatGPT ask the right intake questions, then draft a B2B agreement with a low risk of reclassification as employment, and refuse or escalate when the facts point to employment.
  2. A one-page 10x memo: how a lawyer handles B2B agreements today, from intake to keeping them compliant. Which steps you would automate, which human checkpoints stay, which eval guards each step, and how you would show that quality for the customer did not drop.
  3. An iteration log of about 150 words: two things the model got wrong while you worked, what you changed, and a before and after excerpt for each.

Legal Engineer, Knowledge and Quality

Build the eval that would catch it.

Your task file contains:

  1. At least ten eval cases. Each has an input (a clause or a fact), the expected judgment, a severity and the legal basis. At least three must turn on how the work is actually performed, not on the wording.
  2. A rubric an AI reviewer can apply to any B2B agreement and its brief.
  3. The five most serious risks in the baseline agreement, ranked, with the legal basis for each.
  4. What cannot be judged from the document alone, and what the system should ask the client instead.
  5. An iteration log of about 150 words: two things the model got wrong while you worked, what you changed, and a before and after excerpt for each.
